| iQ4bis Software Partners with Tectura to Offer Business Intelligence to Tectura`s Customers |
Main |
IRVINE, California. Mid-market companies now have access to iQ4bis` powerful, fast-implemented self-service business intelligence and data warehousing solutions, with a new partnership between iQ4bis Software and Tectura Corporation.
Following Microsoft`s discontinuation of PerformancePoint Server, Microsoft`s business intelligence software, earlier this year, many mid-market companies arelooking for business intelligence solutions that are cost effective and easily implemented. Tectura has partnered with iQ4bis to offer its market-leadingbusiness intelligence (BI) software to their customers - many of them running Microsoft Dynamics.
"Mid-market companies have the same business intelligence needs of many Fortune 500 companies - software that can integrate data, often stored in disparate data sources, and give managers actionable intelligence. These companies need to track and manage key performance indicators (KPI`s), Scorecards and Dashboards such as sales, margins, vendors, accounts receivables and account payables," said Frank Wilson, Product Manager for Technology Services at Tectura. "Following our thorough analysis of the available BI software solutions for this market, we decided to partner with iQ4bis."
"Given the macro-economic environment that many companies are operating in currently, these companies lack the budget and luxury for an extensive, lengthy, pricey BI implementation which have a historically high failure rate," said Steve Hamerslag, CEO of iQ4bis. "iQ4bis has taken the complexity and risk out of the creation of a data warehouse. With our mature product line, we have been able to offer a virtual 'out-of-the-box' solution that can show almost instantaneous results. Within hours, our clients can see their data turned into actionable information. More importantly, we`ve invested a considerable amount developing and honing the iQ4bis interface so that non-technical business line managers can easily and intuitively find the answers they need from an array of business data."
"iQ4bis enables our clients to rapidly implement, continuously support and expand a data warehouse solution with a minimal amount effort and knowledge of the complexities of data warehouse and cube design," Frank Wilson said.

| Axapta |
--- |
Microsoft Dynamics AX was originally developed as Axapta in Denmark before Damgaard was merged with Navision Software A/S in 2000. The combined company, initially NavisionDamgaard, later Navision A/S, was then ultimately acquired by the Microsoft Corporation in the summer of 2002. Before the merger, Axapta was initially released in March, 1998 in the Danish and U.S. markets. Today, it is available and supported in forty-five languages in most of the world. Custom AX development and modification is done with its own IDE, MorphX, that contains various tools such as a debugger, code analyzer, and query interface. This development environment resides in the same client application that a normal day-to-day user would access, thus allowing development to take place on any instance of the client. The development language used in Axapta is X++. On May 26th, 2008, Microsoft completed developing the latest version (2009) in facilities spanning the globe and including sites in Vedb?k, Denmark; Kiev, Ukraine; Fargo, North Dakota, USA; and Redmond, Washington, USA. The history becomes apparent in the mixed concepts in design and programming and in the rudimentary documentation which has been removed to a large extent (which was deemed better than providing it with contradictions or wrong information).Wikipedia

| Make the local installation of Axapta ERP. |
Main |
Well, you want to have the independent installation DAX (Microsoft Dynamics Ax or Axapta) to some notebook or your home PC. Microsoft says in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 System Requirements: "Computers running Microsoft Dynamics AX components must have access to other computers in the same Active Directory service domain, with Active Directory configured in native mode." So, they forces you to buy the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (~1200$ incidentally). What can we do? |
| Erp software and the financial crisis. |
Main |
Hello. As you know, the great economic crisis has begun not long ago. Let's talking about the influence of this crisis on the ERP software producing and consulting. The reaction of businesses to the economic crisis is to stop spending money. The ERP systems aren't essential goods of businesses, and consulting companies lose clients. They initiate staff reduction and reduce wage of consultants and developers of ERP software. Nobody is buying the ERP now. In this connection, ERP vendors (Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, etc.) have to bring down their prices. If you want to buy the ERP system, we recommend waiting 3 months; it will be for half of today's price.

| Campbell Scientific Wants Infor for ERP |
--- |
Campbell Scientific , a manufacturer of data acquisition and control products, has selected Infor ERP SyteLine for 25 users at its European headquarters. Campbell Scientific, which provides data acquisition instrumentation such as data loggers and remote weather monitoring stations, will deploy Infor ERP SyteLine to help integrate production, purchasing, sales, accounting, contract management, warehousing and service functions. The solution will help streamline workflow, allowing the company to drive efficiencies and hone a competitive advantage.
Campbell Scientific's current ERP system has been in place for a decade and, despite extensive customisation, could not keep pace with the changing needs of the business. Campbell Scientific needed a new, standardised ERP system that offered both rich functionality and ease-of-use. |

ERP system - Enterprise resource planning, is an enterprise-wide information system designed to coordinate all the resources, information, and activities needed to complete business processes such as order fulfillment or billing.
An ERP system supports most of the business system that maintains in a single database the data needed for a variety of business functions such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Financials, Projects, Human Resources and Customer Relationship Management.
An ERP system is based on a common database and a modular software design. The common database can allow every department of a business to store and retrieve information in real-time. The information should be reliable, accessible, and easily shared. The modular software design should mean a business can select the modules they need, mix and match modules from different vendors, and add new modules of their own to improve business performance. Wikipedia
SCM - Supply chain management is the management of a network of interconnected businesses involved in the ultimate provision of product and service packages required by end customers (Harland, 1996). Supply Chain Management spans all movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods from point-of-origin to point-of-consumption (supply chain).
Ideally, the data for the various business functions are integrated. In practice the ERP system may comprise a set of discrete applications, each maintaining a discrete data store within one physical database. Wikipedia
CRM - Customer relationship management, consists of the processes a company uses to track and organize its contacts with its current and prospective customers. CRM software is used to support these processes; the software system can be accessed, and information about customers and customer interactions can be entered, stored and accessed by employees in different company departments. Typical CRM goals are to improve services provided to customers, and to use customer contact information for targeted marketing. Wikipedia
While the term CRM generally refers to a software-based approach to handling customer relationships, most CRM software vendors stress that a successful CRM effort requires a holistic approach. CRM initiatives often fail because implementation was limited to software installation, without providing the context, support and understanding for employees to learn, and take full advantage of the information systems. Wikipedia
MRP - Material Requirements Planning, is a software based production planning and inventory control system used to manage manufacturing processes. Although it is not common nowadays, it is possible to conduct MRP by hand as well.
MRP II - Manufacturing Resource Planning, is defined by APICS as a method for the effective planning of all resources of a manufacturing company. Ideally, it addresses operational planning in units, financial planning in dollars, and has a simulation capability to answer "what-if" questions and extension of closed-loop MRP. Wikipedia
